The first full moon of summer is almost here—and it’s incredibly rare

Skygazers, rejoice: there’s a spectacle around the corner.

On June 29, the Strawberry Moon will light up the night sky, marking the first full moon of the summer. Despite its delicious name, the moon won’t actually appear pink or red, but it will still be a stunning sight to behold. Whether you’re an avid stargazer or simply looking for an excuse to spend some time outdoors, here’s everything you need to know about when and how to see June’s Strawberry Moon.

What is a Strawberry Moon?

June’s full moon is known as the Strawberry Moon, a name that has nothing to do with its color. The nickname comes from the Algonquin people, who used it to mark the brief strawberry harvest season that arrives each year in early summer, according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac.

Part 7 of 7 – Sovereignty as a Way of Life

Sovereignty is not a moment. It is a way of living.

At first, sovereignty can sound lofty, even abstract. But in practice, it is very simple: you belong to yourself. Your attention belongs to you. Your voice belongs to you. Your life belongs to you. And when you live from that truth, everything changes.

Sovereignty is not isolation. It is not rebellion for its own sake. It is not hardening the heart or refusing help. It is the quiet strength of someone who knows where their center is and no longer confuses love with self-abandonment.

This is perhaps the deepest gift of the later years. If you are willing, life can strip away a great deal of what is unnecessary. It can leave behind the masks, the performances, the borrowed identities, and the stories that no longer fit.

Part 6 of 7 – Integrity in the Small Things

Integrity is easy to admire in principle. It is much harder to practice when no one is watching.

But that is exactly where it matters most.

A spiritual life that is only visible in theory is not yet a spiritual life. It becomes real in the small places: the promise kept, the apology made, the conversation told truthfully, the extra moment of patience, the decision not to betray what you know is right.

This matters because older adulthood often brings a clearer eye. People have lived long enough to know that shortcuts usually cost more than they save. They know that peace cannot be faked for long. They know that a divided life eventually feels heavy.

Integrity is coherence. It means your words and your actions agree.

Part 5 of 7 – The Courage to Trust What You Cannot Yet See

There are seasons in life when the outer world gives you no proof that things are changing. The prayer has been spoken, the choice has been made, the old pattern has been refused, and still the evidence is thin. This is where courage begins.
Trust is not pretending you know what comes next. Trust is continuing to walk while you do not know.

For many older adults, this stage feels deeply familiar. Life has already taught them that not everything arrives on schedule, and not every blessing looks the way they expected. Aging itself often sharpens this wisdom, shifting attention away from control and toward meaning, gratitude, and discernment.

The spiritual path asks you to trust the unseen work. A seed does not announce its roots.

Part 4 of 7 – Universal Law and the Sacred Path: The wisdom of sovereignty

There comes a point in spiritual maturity when life no longer seems random. Not because every event is easy to explain, and not because pain disappears, but because you begin to notice pattern, principle, and consequence.

This is the realm of universal law.

Whether you call it vibration, cause and effect, resonance, or the cosmic mind, the message is the same: consciousness matters. What you think, feel, do, and repeat shapes the quality of your experience.

The Law of Cause and Effect reminds us that actions carry consequences. The Law of Vibration teaches that everything has an energetic tone. The Law of Attraction reminds us that we tend to meet more of what we are aligned with. Taken together, these ideas point to a simple but powerful truth: your inner life is never separate from your outer life.

Part 3 of 7 – The Power of Consistent Action: Turning intention into reality

Most people underestimate what small, repeated actions can do. A seed looks insignificant in your hand. A daily prayer can seem too simple to matter. A single clear decision may not feel dramatic enough to change anything. And yet those small acts, repeated with sincerity, are often what reshape a life.

Real manifestation is rarely a sudden event. It is a process. It grows through rhythm, devotion, and consistency. The universe responds not only to what you want, but to what you reinforce with your habits, attention, and energy.

Think of a gardener. She does not plant a seed and then demand immediate proof. She waters the soil. She clears what obstructs growth. She waits with faith. She knows something important is happening beneath the surface long before it can be seen.

Part 2 of 7 – Building the Bridge: From self-discovery to divine power

Part 2 of 7 – Building the Bridge: From self-discovery to divine power

Awakening is a beginning, but it is not the whole journey. At some point, insight has to become embodiment. What you understand must begin to shape how you live. Otherwise, the spiritual life remains an idea instead of a force.

That is where the bridge appears.

The bridge is made of awareness, intention, and repeated choice. It is crossed one thought at a time, one honest decision at a time, one act of self-respect at a time. You do not leap over the gap between where you are and where you want to be. You build your way across it.

Many people wait for life to change before they change.

Part 1 of 7 – You Are Never Too Old to Begin: Why awakening is a marathon, not a sprint

Series intro
There comes a time in life when truth matters more than performance, and presence matters more than speed. For many readers in later life, spirituality becomes less about collecting ideas and more about living with clarity, honesty, and meaning. This seven-part series is an invitation into that deeper way of living: practical, mystical, and rooted in the conviction that awakening is always possible.  Each new part should appear approximately one week after the previous one.

You Are Never Too Old to Begin: Why awakening is a marathon, not a sprint

There is a quiet lie many people carry into later life: that the time for change has already passed. The truth is kinder. You are never too old to begin.

Celebrate the Spring Equinox, the time of Green Fire,

In the Northern Hemisphere, March 20th is the Spring Equinox; when day and night will be equal in length at the equator and light and dark will be perfectly balanced. It is also the New Year for many Indigenous cultures as well as current Earth honoring spiritual traditions that follow the ancient ways.

In ancient traditions, the Vernal Equinox is considered the time of Green Fire. It refers not only to sap rising, but also to the electrical energy pulsing through the growing plants. This is not a metaphor; as my electrician husband explained, green fire is literally electrical, just like our own nervous systems. Humans and plants have the same oscillation frequency, which is why we can align with the energy of the plants when we pay attention.

Embrace Hope my friends,

Imbolc (February 1st and 2nd) is the time of hope for new life and the return of the light. For thousands of years, Imbolc, meaning “in the belly” was a sign of hope that the ewes were pregnant and there would be lambs born in the spring. People also celebrated that the days were gradually lengthening.

The older traditions are based on the seasonal signs of Nature. Our Ancestors knew that Nature was the most important teacher. Hope was generated by the signs Mother Earth provided such as pregnant sheep and the first flowers poking up through the snow. Even though our culture has mostly disconnected us from paying attention to the natural world, there is a growing trend to bring us back to practices such as Forest Bathing, planting our own healing herbs and protecting both plant and animal species.
